Diggin’ Up Bones video from Country Grass

Country Grass - Lorraine Jordan & Carolina RoadLorraine Jordan & Carolina Road have released a new music video for Diggin’ Up Bones, one of 13 country hits which they have recut in a bluegrass style for their current Country Grass CD on Pinecastle Records.

The original was a #1 hit for Randy Travis in 1986, written by Paul Overstreet, Al Gore and Nat Stuckey.

Here Tommy Long gives the song a respectful, grassified reading, accompanied by Lorraine and the rest of the band.

The new album also includes 11 vocal collaborations between Carolina Road and top country artists like John Conlee, T.G. Shepard, Marty Raybon, Lee Greenwood, and others, recreating their hits with a bluegrass band. Among them was the recently-departed Lynn Anderson, who died on July 30.

Lorraine shared her regret in noting Anderson’s passing.

“I am truly sad to hear about the loss of my dear friend Lynn Anderson who passed away. It was an honor to have just recorded her famous tune, Rose Garden, on my latest project Country Grass. She was an inspiration to all women who joined the country music world. I truly believe she took a chance by moving country music in a more contemporary direction and it paid off.”

Look for Country Grass wherever you purchase bluegrass CDs or downloads.
