Condolences to Tim White

Jacqueline Nicole WhiteBluegrass Today shares our deepest and most sincere condolences with Tim White, host of the PBS bluegrass program Song Of The MountainsThe Tim White Bluegrass Show on more than two dozen radio stations across the US, and good friend to everyone in bluegrass.

His beloved daughter Jackie passed away in her sleep on April 29 at her home in Loudon, TN. She was only 28 years of age.

Jackie had presented Tim and his wife, Penny, with a granddaughter, Riley, just over four months ago.

Needless to say, Tim and his family are heartbroken over the sudden loss of Jackie, as is her fiancé, Derrick Dawson, and their daughter, Riley Quinn, whom Tim called Smiley Riley.

White says that his daughter was not a musician, but was a big bluegrass lover and her dad’s biggest fan. She was always available to help him out at shows and attended hundred of his live appearances when she was a girl with her big sister, Meaghan.

Tim shared a couple of photos from his personal collection, one with Meaghan and Jackie as little girls in 1993, and another with his whole family last September when he returned to the Song Of The Mountains stage following a squabble with the management of the Lincoln Theatre.

If you are the praying kind, you might offer up one for all the Whites as they deal with this unexpected tragedy.

Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. this Thursday (May 5) at Bethel View Baptist Church in Bristol, TN. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00. Online condolences can be left at McGill Click Funerals & Cremations.
