ClayBank launches in NC

ClayBankClayBank is the newest group to emerge from the fertile musical vistas of northwestern North Carolina, playing straight-ahead contemporary bluegrass.

Gary Trivette is on bass, serving as the “old hand” among some talented young grassers. Tyler Thompson is on banjo, Jacob Greer on guitar, and Zach Arnold on mandolin. All four are strong vocalists, with both Gary and Zach excelling at the soaring tenor, as you can hear in this a cappella arrangement of Beyond The Sunset.

…and this version of The Wilburn Brothers’ Arkansas.

ClayBank took first place in the bluegrass band category at the Union Grove Fiddlers Convention in April.

The guys have been working this month at Castle Ford studios in Boone, NC on a new recording which they hope to have available next year.

They are working on a band web site, but can be reached via Facebook in the meantime.
