Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion 2013 – Sunday Report

Nora Jane Struthers & the Party Line at Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion (9/22/13) - photo by Tim CarterThe 13th Annual Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion festival wrapped up on Sunday. After some rain on Saturday, the sun and pleasant temps were a welcome change, obviously helping increase attendance on Sunday. Great weather and outstanding entertainment makes for happy fans. The fans were even happier because the acts on the Country Mural Stage on Sunday included Nora Jane Struthers and The Party Line; Kenny and Amanda Smith; Dale Ann Bradley and Steve Gulley; Marty Raybon and Full Circle; and Red Molly.

As a volunteer with the festival I can tell you that getting to the third day of the three-day festival felt like a mixed blessing. The last day was welcomed because we were all tired… worn out. Yet even though we were tired, we also hated to see the fun and enthusiasm end. We all enjoyed meeting new friends and reuniting with old friends throughout the weekend.

Most of the artists now move on to IBMA World of Bluegrass. I go back to work and look forward to more live music as soon as possible. I want to take a moment to thank Alane Anno of Alane Anno Photography, who documented the day in pictures far better than I ever could and agreed to share some of her work with us here at Bluegrass Today.
