Rural Rhythm has begun releasing editions of their BlueHighways TV show, Behind The Dream, as online videos. The half hour program debuted last Fall, with Mike Scott serving as host. Each episode features a Rural Rhythm artist, combining one-on-one interviews with both live and studio video performances, to paint a picture of the person behind the music.
So far, two videos have been posted on the label’s YouTube channel, which is currently being developed as a destination for bluegrass videos of every kind.
The first was for Marty Raybon, but it is not specifically about his bluegrass career. This second highlights Darrell Webb.
Rural Rhythm gives first broadcast rights to BlueHighways TV for each Behind The Dream episode, and will add them to the YouTube channel a few months afterwards. A session with Bobby Osborne is due up next.
Sammy Passamano, who handles video promotion for the Nashville-based label, says they are working with YouTube now to make their channel available as a Partner Show for Internet capable televisions.
“Our new Ruralrhythmflip Youtube page it for all music, not just Rural Rhythm Artists. My goal is to have a place that anyone can come on and watch what I call Grass.
With a little luck and good video content, Youtube will give us the Partner Show feature so when you are watching Youtube on your home TV, we can have a time slot for our shows.”
You can keep an eye on the Rural Rhythm video channel online.
