Banjo spot opening with Darin & Brooke

Darin & Brooke AldridgeAre you a banjo player looking for a full time gig? A spot is opening up with Darin & Brooke Aldridge this summer, and they have asked us to share news of the fact to help them find the perfect picker for the job.

The band works a consistently busy schedule, but primarily on weekends, so it could be a good fit for a student. They hope to find a new banjo player who can also sub on guitar.

Here’s their official notice:

2015 ended on a high note for bluegrass favorites Darin & Brooke Aldridge with a #1 hit on the Bluegrass Unlimited chart (Tennessee Flat Top Box) and 2016 so far has been as exciting if not more. They recently wrapped recording on a new CD they plan to release this Fall, they have played numerous high profile dates with mentor and New Grass legend John Cowan (who also appears on their new album as well as Vince Gill and others) as well as Country Music Hall of Famer and mentor Jimmy Fortune. Vince even invited them to guest on a song and then for the finale at his recent Bluegrass Nights at the Ryman date in Nashville.

Remaining on their 2016 schedule with Cowan are appearances in Richmond, VA and Durham, NC as well as high profile festivals like Claremore, OK (Chilifest), Winfield, KS and Dumplin Valley as well as an joint appearance at the Red Hat Amphitheater during IBMA Week in Raleigh. They have quite a few of their own dates remaining including their annual Christmas show near their home in Cherryville, NC.

As is the case often in our genre, band members come and go and we are not immune to changes as well. After 3 1/2 years Tyler Collins has moved on and it leaves a big spot needed to be filled on banjo. This band has really hit its stride so they are being careful to find the “right fit” to compliment the various styles they now perform live. With so many super, young talented players out there they wanted to spread the word that this spot is open and they are hopeful someone they hadn’t considered would call with an interest and dig in and be here for a good long while.

If you are interested in this coveted role, please reach out to Darin Aldridge directly at darinaldridge_com@yahoo.com.

More details about the banjo gig can also be found by contacting their manager, Brian Smith at Leadership Artists.
