Banjo Safari – Year 2

Banjo SafariCalling all intrepid photographers. Do you play banjo also? How about a trip to the home of the banjo, Africa? And why not enjoy the sights and sounds of an African safari and, at the same time, improve your banjo playing?

Host Kevin Dooley and banjo teacher Ross Nickerson have for the second year joined forces to offer a unique workshop which combines safari experiences with some banjo lessons. This November’s trip will be the second Banjo Safari that Kevin and South Africa native Tricia Dooley have organized and already half of the ten places for the trip have been sold.

While the Dooleys will serve as hosts for the safari, Nickerson will provide some lessons for those who want to take a banjo along with them.

Nickerson extends a personal welcome …….

I can’t tell you how excited I am to be teaming up with our professional Safari guides Kevin and Tricia on an adventure that none of us will forget for the rest of our lives. In my many years of teaching privately and traveling the world to hold group banjo workshops there has never been a destination as special as visiting Africa.

We’ll spend our mornings and late afternoons exploring the wildlife of South Africa, and the mid-day will be filled with a banjo workshop that will be fun and rewarding. Our evenings and nights will be spent in a beautiful safari lodge, including exceptional African cuisine.

The workshop will be a small group with lots of opportunity for private lessons and a relaxed atmosphere. Bring along your spouse or friend even if they don’t play the banjo, the Safari alone should be an unforgettable experience.

Please contact Kevin and allow him to describe this incredible experience to you with all the reasons you should consider joining us.”

The Banjo Safari runs from November 2-10, 2013, with participants meeting at Johannesburg Airport, South Africa. Transportation to and from the lodge will be provided.

Prices for the African Photo Safari are not for the faint of heart.

  • $4,290 per person (one person per room)
  • $7,990 for Double Occupancy (two people per room)
  • $295 for Banjo camp tuition
