Banjo flash mob on Saturday

walterOK all you banjo pickers in Raleigh…

A banjo flash mob has been declared for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon (9/28) at the Raleigh Convention Center, just near the statue of Sir Walter Raleigh, who has been equipped with a 5 string for IBMA week. Our pal Katy Daley with WAMU’s Bluegrass Country came up with the idea, and we heartily agree that it would be a fun stunt to mark the last day of Wide Open Bluegrass here in Raleigh.

The event is open to any and everyone with a banjo, both IBMA attendees and NC banjo natives. Bring your 5, come on down and we’ll get a photo of all the banjos and banjo pickers on Saturday afternoon!
