Pete Wernick informs us that a full scholarship is being offered for his Dr. Banjo jam camp held April 23-26 in Boomer, NC, just prior to Merlefest.
2012 will mark the 14th consecutive year Pete has held this event in North Carolina, and the scholarship recipient will receive full tuition, plus meals and accommodation for the 4 day camp.
Wernick says that applications must be received by April 3, with an announcement made by April 6.
“Though we’re especially interested in getting a young person for the scholarship, there’s no age requirement. We’re not looking for high skill, either, just someone who would really like to attend the camp, but can’t without some financial help. The only qualifications for the camp are the ability to switch smoothly between G, C, D, and A.
This camp has an intermediate as well as a novice track, and welcomes anyone from complete beginning jammers to experienced players.”
