Seldom Scene week at WAMU’s Bluegrass Country

Event Details

WAMU’s Bluegrass Country is celebrating the 40th anniversary of hometown heroes Seldom Scene with a special week of programming, running through November 25. They will be highlighting the group’s many recordings, featuring interviews with current and former members, and some archival live audio.

Still to come are interviews with John Starling, live audio from both 1980 and 2009, and special web-only video of former Bluegrass 45 mandolinist Akira Otsuka, who shares stories about the Scene and John Duffey.

Here, he discusses the Seldom Scene’s 1985 Japanese tour.
