Buddy Melton and Terry Baucom

Here’s some info on Terry Baucom’s upcoming CD, In A Groove, courtesy of his wife, Cindy.

The album is now complete, and due for release March 29 on the John Boy & Billy label. Cindy tells us that as they were finishing up in the studio, one of the very last things they had to do was was find someone to sing tenor to Russell Moore on a song up in the key of C. No simple task, that!

They called on Balsam Range fiddler Buddy Melton, who Cindy says rose to the occasion, supplying the high part for Nothin’ Like The Scorn of a Lover, written by Connie Leigh.

Cindy had Buddy on as a guest this week on Knee Deep In Bluegrass, her syndicated radio program, and they discussed the track and his involvement.

Here’s a clip. Buddy’s comments are followed by a chorus of the song, featuring the trio of Moore, Melton and Baucom – and the triple fiddles of Jason Carter.
